I Like A Challenge

I'm back, kinda.

This isn't one of my better ones, I'm not gonna lie. It's just been so long since I've written anything I had to put something down just to not fall out of practice. I'm working on my own novel right now, but it's slow going - something short and nasty was in order just to feel accomplished. Hope you all like it for what it's worth.

Merry Christmas: Christmas Comes Early

1) I'm sorta back. It'll still be the same "I'll write when I feel like it" schedule I had before, but life has sorta slowed down (in a good way) and I find I have a normal amount of free time. New job = less work stress. It's not the job I wanted or even in the industry I want, and it doesn't pay what I was making before, but it's workable, it's manageable, and I'm being treated a hell of a lot better.

2) This is an idea I've had percolating since January. I was originally going to call it "Christmas in July" but July came and went. I was originally going to end it with the original epilogue, but someone commented that the antagonist (Chris) didn't really get any comeuppance - which isn't all that unusual for one of my stories. That said, i felt like Jenna coming out on top could work without compromising the original idea, so enjoy.

So, this one was a bit cathartic for me. I work for a bad company that ratcheted up to terrible in the last year or so entirely because of new corporate personnel. Cut benefits, "restructured" pay designed to force people out of jobs, generally treating it's employees like garbage. I've been looking for new work for a while, and this just confirms I need to GET THE FUCK OUT.

Been a bit since I posted anything. Been wanting to do a cyberpunk type thing for a while, and Shadowrun is amazing, so why not? Besides, I can't get any of my players to agree to PLAY Shadowrun, so this is a nice compromise for myself.

Recently got back into Lexx. I've owned the whole series for a while, but it's been years since I've seen it. Forgot how much fun it was - really unique sci-fi.

For the Lexx purists out there, yeah, I'm playing a bit fast and loose. Sue me. If you're getting up in arms about the workings of a machine called a Lusticon, I can't help you. And it's not like there's a ton of conflicting information out there anyways.
